Amitabh Chaturvedi, a Chartered Accountant, has over 30 years of proven experience in the BFSI domain with strategic expertise in Banking, Asset Management, Insurance, Lending and Wealth Management functions. Before his brief stint with Karvy for two years, he served as the Managing Director of Essel Finance Ltd., a part of the multibillion-dollar Essel Group.
He has worked in large organisations like ICICI Bank, Dhanlaxmi Bank and Reliance Capital.
During his stint with ICICI Bank, he worked in diverse areas of Planning, Treasury, Retail Banking, and Distribution. He gained immense experience in raising resources and managing large portfolios.
Amitabh also worked for Reliance Capital and created its Lending, Asset Management, Insurance, Broking and Wealth Management arms.
He is widely known for his tenure at Reliance Mutual Fund; under his able leadership, the AUM grew from Rs. 1,500 crores to almost Rs. 90,000 crores in just over four years.
One of his most challenging assignments was leading the Kerala-based Dhanlaxmi Bank. He converted the regional bank into a tech-savvy new generation financial institution with a formidable network and business growth. During his short stint of ~4 years with Dhanlaxmi Bank, the bank’s business grew from INR 5,800 crores to approximately INR 23,000 crores.
